Siargao · Southeast Coast
Siargao's creative heart — world-class surf, design-led villas, and the Philippines' best coffee scene
About General Luna
General Luna is where Siargao's soul lives. The town — more village than town, really — sits on the southeast coast facing a wide bay, flanked by coconut groves and the world-famous Cloud 9 reef break 2 kilometres to the north. It is the island's creative and culinary centre: a food and coffee scene that rivals any resort island in Southeast Asia, a cluster of design-led private villas built by Filipino and international architects who have consistently chosen Siargao as their canvas, and a community atmosphere that feels genuinely welcoming rather than tourist-processed. General Luna is the perfect base for guests who want extraordinary villa architecture, excellent food, Cloud 9 surf proximity, and the option to explore Siargao's lagoons, outer islands, and rock pools without committing to the cloud-chasing seclusion of the island's remote coastlines.
What Awaits
The world-famous Cloud 9 reef break is a 5-minute drive or 20-minute beach walk from General Luna's villa zone. Your villa concierge arranges daily surf sessions with private instructors, equipment rental, and photography. The Cloud 9 boardwalk viewpoint is free and extraordinary.
General Luna has more exceptional independent coffee roasters per square kilometre than any other Philippine island destination. Multiple specialty roasters source beans from across the archipelago. Morning coffee runs are a ritual for villa guests — ask your concierge for the current favourites.
Siargao's villa architecture is unlike anywhere else in Asia. Bamboo, reclaimed wood, and raw concrete used in ways that create genuinely beautiful spaces — open-air living rooms that dissolve into jungle, infinity pools that appear to float above the coconut canopy. These buildings are destinations in themselves.
General Luna's food scene punches far above its size — fresh-catch seafood, creative Filipino-international cuisine, and beachfront dining options that rival Manila's best. Your villa chef sources from the same market; the quality benchmark is genuinely high.
Siargao's most extraordinary natural attraction is a 45-minute boat ride from General Luna. The vast emerald lagoon is surrounded by jungle, with a diving platform and paddleboard rentals. Villa concierge arranges early departures for a near-private experience.
Naked Island, Guyam Island, and Daku Island form Siargao's classic island-hopping circuit — a perfect contrast to the surf culture. Private bangka departures from General Luna pier. Snorkelling, picnic lunch, and deserted beach stops included.

Getting There
Direct flight to Siargao (SAB)
2 hrs
Daily direct flights from Manila to Sayak Airport (SAB), Siargao. AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, and Philippine Airlines all operate this route in peak season. The airport is 20 minutes from General Luna by tricycle or private transfer.
Direct flight Cebu–Siargao or overnight ferry
1 hr (flight) / 10 hrs (ferry)
Cebu–Siargao direct flights operate seasonally. The overnight ferry is popular with budget travelers but not practical for luxury villa guests. We always recommend the direct flight.
Tricycle or motorbike
5–10 min
Cloud 9 and General Luna are separated by a 2km coastal road through coconut groves. Villa guests typically rent motorbikes or use tricycles — the local transport method adds to the Siargao atmosphere.
